We sometimes forget what we have on our doorstep, and these spaces are often forgetten in favour of the wild and remote places on the fringes of our planet (which I obviously love too) But the UK is home to some true wilderness, not only in Scotland, where I spend a lot of my free time, but also in England and Wales. It really isn't hard to find a green wild area not far from your doorstep and I'm a keen advocate that we go out and explore, not only for own well-being but for the the protection and conservation of these areas.
